| 1-5-05 The first captain's meeting for USA League Tennis is over and it's time to form teams. Remember that you need to join or renew your membership in the USTA to play League Tennis. Don't have a team? Call the league line at 452-2941 for help. Call quickly; teams are filling up. | ![]() |
1-5-05 Are you new to the league and self rating this year? If you played in college or competed as a junior, you are an "Elite Player". I know, the bad back and weak knees don't feel elite but the USTA wants to make sure that a few under-raters don't spoil it for the rest of us, so they've issued these Elite Player Guidelines. If you meet these criteria, you need to fill out a Player History Form and send it to the USTA. Save a copy for your captain as well.
12-09-04 Congratulations to Harris Hanes, the 2004 Star-News Girls’ Tennis Player of the Year. This marks the third year that the New Hanover senior has taken top honors. For the rest of the All Area Players of the Year, you will have to read the paper; I couldn't find an on-line link.
11-30-04 Everyone by now knows that the ratings are out. If you want to appeal your rating (only for those who were moved up), you can find instructions at this link from the NC tennis web site.
