The GWTA will be sponsoring a QuickStart tennis program over six weekends from September 18 to October 23. There will be an Introductory program for children ages 6-10 and an Instructional program for children 11-14. Laney's Women's Tennis team swept Topsail 9-0 in non-conference play on Monday. The Buccaneers move to 2-1 on the season. Topsail will be back for a rematch Sept. 8th at Laney 4:00.

Landfall Junior Team Captures Southern Section Title |

The Landfall Country Club 18 and Under Advanced Team captured the Southern Junior Team Championship in Mobile August 20-22. The team coached by Jon Ingham defeated a team from LIttle Rock, Arkansas to take the title and earn the right to represent the Southern Section in the National Tournament October 28-31 in Surprise, Arizona. Congratulations to team members A.J. Stilwell, Alex Gaines, Alexander Gianoplus, Ashleigh Antal, Danielle McGee, Mckayla Zupan, Miller Hales, Smith Hinton, Tom Hicks and William Kent. |

USTA Membership
Many of our USTA sanctioned leagues require USTA membership to participate. You can join the USTA via their web site. You can also renew your USTA membership over the phone with FAX confirmation by calling 1-800-990-USTA. Don't wait till the last moment! All memberships must be current through the end of league play.

| On Saturday, September 11th, 2010 we are planning a grand opening celebration for the new tennis center. The celebration will include:
A Tennis Carnival for children, 10 am to 12 noon
A QuickStart Tennis Tournament for children, 8 am to 12 noon
A Junior Team Tennis Tournament, 8 am to 12 noon
A World Team Tennis Tournament, 8 am to 8 pm
