Cape Fear Country Club Pros Raise Money for Haiti PDF  | Print |  E-mail
The Cape Fear Country Club Tennis Professionals in Wilmington, NC, Laird Dunlop, Greg Whitmore, Cary Wyeth, and Kyle Glasgow, gave their time for free for 24 hours to raise money for the relief efforts in Haiti. The four USPTA staff members came together with over 50 Tennis Members to raise $2,140.

The original idea was hoping to raise $1,000 and that seemed like a very far reaching goal at first. After the day one of lessons, it became evident that the members of CFCC were very inspired to come out and support the event: almost $1,000 was raised in that period of time.

Members who were unavailable to take lessons, also called or emailed to donate dollars as well. The true giving nature of the club came together and rose to the occasion. From all over the world people are coming together to help the devastated country of Haiti.

The premise of the fundraiser was very simple. Any member or guest of Cape Fear Country Club could come out and pay $25 per half hour or $15 per person if more than one person took the lesson. The Tennis Professionals donated their time for 24 hours from Friday, January 22 at 4pm until Saturday, January 23 at 4pm. All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross earmarked for Haiti relief.
