Althea Gibson Essay Winners

As part of the opening of the new Althea Gibson Tennis Center at Empie Park, the GWTA sponsored an essay contest at Williston Middle School. Ms. Gibson attended Williston when it was a high school in the late 1940's. First place winners in each grade received four weeks in the Echo Farms Country Club Junior Tennis Program. Second and third places received certificates and tennis racquets. Congratulation to our winners:

6th grade

8th grade

1st place: Brianna Lawton

2nd place: Karla Candiani

3rd place: Nakita Toster
