GWTA Leagues and Organizations

The GWTA functions as the umbrella organization for several different activities throughout the year.

USTA League Tennis is the world's largest recreational tennis league providing organized, structured team matches for all ability levels. Approximately 500,000 players compete nationwide, with over 124,000 adult and senior players coming from the USTA Southern Section alone. The program is open to women and men 19 years of age and older and features a local, state and sectional championship and culminates in a national championship in each skill level (NTRP levels 2.5 - 5.0). Whether you are a beginner or a more advanced player, this program has a spot for you. There is no better way to have fun, make friends and compete than USTA League Tennis.

USTA League Tennis Mixed Doubles is similar to USTA League Tennis in that it offers competitive league tennis play at the local and sectional level, culminating in a Regional Championship featuring the top teams from the Caribbean, Florida and Southern Sections. However, the USTA League Tennis Mixed Doubles program allows players of different NTRP levels to play together, encouraging participants to play with their friends, family and co-workers. Players without a NTRP rating are permitted to self rate. The levels offered include adult 5.0 - 10.0 and senior 5.0 - 9.0.

BMW Combo Doubles is currently the fastest growing adult program in the USTA Southern Section. With a participation base of 31,000, you might be wondering what keeps the players coming back year after year? The answer is simple... BMW Combo Doubles is FUN! The program allows participants to self rate, thus making it easy to play with family and friends. For most players, this is the program's single most attractive attribute. BMW Combo Doubles offers skill levels for adults ranging from 5.0 - 10.5 and for seniors ranging from 6.5 - 8.5. Local competition is fierce, with the top local teams advancing to their state championship and then the Sectional Championship.

Super Seniors is the newest league program to hit the USTA Southern Section. Currently over 3,000 players are enjoying its fun, camaraderie and competition. Two divisions are offered: Super Seniors 60 with 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5 levels and Super Senior 70 with 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 levels. Players without NTRP ratings are encouraged to self-rate. Local league play culminate in state championships and a Super Senior Southern Sectional Championship.
