USA League North
Carolina State Championships will be hosted by the Greater Wilmington Tennis
Association (GWTA) and the North Carolina Tennis Association(NCTA)
All
Seniors’, as well as Adult 5.0 Men’s &
Women’s Matches will be held in Wilmington, June 9 - 12, 2005 beginning at 8
AM each day..

great competitive tennis right here in Wilmington? You will have the opportunity to do just that beginning
Thursday, June 9 thru Sunday, June12. The
GWTA and NCTA will welcome nearly 1000 tennis players, winners of local leagues
(all 3.0 to 4.0 Senior as well as Adult 5.0) throughout North Carolina,
who will be playing in the State Championship matches at clubs in our
area. USA League Tennis is an
adult recreational tennis program for all players, regardless of skill. Anyone
19 and over can participate. Anyone 50 years old or over may play in the Senior
Division of the League.
Among the championship
teams participating will be 8 teams from Wilmington – 5.0 Adult Men and Women
and 3.0 Senior Men and Women, 3.5 Senior Men and Women , Senior 4.0 Men and
Women. Come out to watch and cheer
your favorite teams on! All of the
matches will be played at the following private clubs who have generously
donated court time for this exciting event.

Other USA League Tennis:
Come and play in one of
the most FUN and social leagues that the USTA offers, the USA MIXED
DOUBLES LEAGUE. Teams are comprised of up to 14 players playing 3
doubles matches where the doubles teams combined NTRP rating does not exceed the
level that they are entering. The league uses the NTRP rating system and a
player must either have a computer rating or a self-rating.
To participate:
Levels of Play:
*The combined levels of
each doubles pair cannot exceed the team level. No individual team can be
separated by more than 1.0 in NTRP level. An example is a 3.5 and a 4.5 can play
8.0 but a 5.0 and a 3.0 cannot play.

The SOUTHERN
COMBO DOUBLES LEAGUE is one of the fastest growing adult programs in
the USTA's Southern Section. This program features Men's and Women's teams
playing 3 doubles matches. The doubles teams use a combined NTRP rating that
does not exceed the level on which they are playing. The unique format is what
makes the COMBO DOUBLES league so fun! It also offers the chance to play with
different people and to make new friends.
